If you don't know what gun you want then don't buy one. A guy doesn't solicit info from a group to find out how to spend $1200. Just seem asinine to me.

I will look at the 7mm option and the option of upgrading some gear. Around here a super pair of binos will not do a ton of good around here. I am in a wooded, hilly area so most views are under a few under years.
Though a nice spotting scope does sound nice. |
Maybe a Saiga in 308 and a trunk full of ammo for it for $1200.

1,200 bucks,you have plenty of guns, how about putting that toward an out of state hunt such as a Colorado or New Mexico muzzleloader elk hunt. Both very do it yourself friendly. Get some hunting buddies together and go for it, you wont regret it. If you need any help planning a hunt just use this site, some of us are always eager to answer questions. The Rockies in Sept. and October are awesome.
