bar sweet spot ?
 

any one have a 300 wim mag with boss ?
im wondering what factory loads and sweet spot numbers work best for you. trying to get a good starting point to hopefully save a little on the ammo bill. have already been thru it with a 270 so i know it can be a pain to start with only brownings very few recomendations.

I have a .300win mag boss abolt, the only load I ever dialed in was rem 180 core lokt's, I just used the recommended setting and was getting 1" groups at 100yds.

From what I've read, the faster the bullet, the more it should be adjusted to one way i forget which, ie 150's would wanna be at a 9, but a 180 would wanna be a 1, but I do seem to recall the rem180 sweet spot being more far out....

Maybe pick the load/bullet you want, and dial it in best you can, if you can't get groups of 1.5" maybe try a different load...

So according to that chart....I probably had the 180 core lokts dialed into setting 1.0...

You have a BAR .300win.mag.? My setting was for the A-bolt, use that same chart though, since it shows bar and abolt suggestions...

Get some quality ear protection also.......

that's one reason I bought / am switching to the boss-cr...

thinking of chopping the thing completely off, but I know there are huge boss fans and anti boss fans, hard to make a choice, figure the boss-CR is a good alternative for the time being.

No more muzzle brakes in my future though.

Im just not a big fan of Browning rifles in general. The ones Ive dealt with (buddies) were a PITA for numerous reasons. The boss system IMO offers little advantage and is an eyesore to me. Ive burned alot of rounds "tuning" one in my partners .308 win chambered A- Bolt.

yes ive seen the chart may try the 165 hornadys
and see if i can get them to group
they are definately loud but man the reduced recoil is great
my 270 is like shooting a 22 but definately want to remember the ear plugs.

the .300win.mag. and 180gr bullets were meant for each other.

any more 300 win mag boss owners out there.
