Have to pick 1, though you can suggest another.
Browning A-bolt Ti. $1000 23" barrel
Rem.700 Alaskan Ti. $1400 24" fluted barrel
prices are approx.
The caliber would most likely be .270wsm, though possibly .300wsm
Anyone know the contour of both barrels? the rem700 is fluted, the browning is not.
The Rem. has been discontinued, perhaps they'll create a new Ti. rifle? why did they ever discontinue it? sure there was a demand for that sort of rifle.

HOW ABOUT NEITHER...!!!!Find yourseld a model 7 stainless synthetic in .300 SAUM..it will do anythng that either of those to mooses will do, a much smaller package, extremely accurate, easy to handle and aim..one of the best kept secrets that never caught on..too bad, an amazing little rifle that got no respect....

First thing is I wouldn't have an A-bolt if you gave it to me.... Sold to the first bidder.
Second, I sure as heck wouldn't pay $1400 for a factory 700 no matter what it is made from.
Third, a mountain rifle shouldn't be hampered with a barrel longer than 20-22 inches max in a bolt gun IMO.
Mine would be something along the lines of the Model 70 feather weight, Kimber 84M, or Remington Seven. Chambered in 7mm-08 or .260 Remington all with barrels cut down to 20" long.

When a guys asks for opinions on A rifle vs B rifle why does everyone hurry up and offer up X Y Z? Obviously he isnt looking for a Ruger or Winchester etc...
I would take the Browning over the Rem. I don't own any mountain rifles but my A-bolts out shoot my 700's any day of the week.
I like Browning adjustable trigger config and bolt throw much better then the Rem's set up. Unless you get a DM model Rem I also like Brownings swing plate with detachable mag much better.
I really don't care about a fluted barrel or not on a hunting rifle. As far a calibers flip a coin. 300wsm does have a wider ranges of bullet weights to choose from.
Truth be told though both rifles will be plenty accurate for what you are looking for so get the one that feels the best for you.
