If you are hunting only in Florida, there is not a rifle that could beat the 270, ever!
If you ever plan on elk hunting, the 30-06 is the better choice for a single rifle.
That said, I have both!!!

Both are great deer cartridges. I've shot allot of deer with the 270. Another you might consider is a 7mm08.I lived in FL for many years and the deer are allot smaller as you already know. The wife hunts with a 7mm08 and has taken some nice deer with that cartridge.
Good luck in your choice.

How about a lever action 30-30, it doesn't take much to kill a deer that's only 30 feet away in a palmetto thicket. I'd rather have a rifle that handles good, and the Marlin 336 just seems to fit me great.

Carry two rifles at the same time? I'd carry two different rounds of '06 if I really thought that was necessary. NOT! My one 165 gr. round will do fine at any yardage as long as I have been practicing. May not be as flat shooting as a lesser grain .270, but......it's gonna' get there and have better knock down power where needed!
