bscofield,

I live in your area, run an ad in the Post Dispatch for a reasonable price and you will sell your rifle quickly. You might also keep your eyes peeled in the ads for your 7mm, you usually have to jump quickly, but good buys are there.

If interested, I have an FFL, email me at [email protected], I' ll see what I can locate for your price range.

bscofield you could put your rifle on consignment with a dealer and consider buying a used 7MM mag if you are on a limited budget . I see used ones all the time for around $250 - 300 and some of them are almost new .

Sell it yourself. A dealer won' t usually give you what it' s worth if you use it as a trade-in!!

Yeah that same guy that offered you $125 yards would turn around and ask $250 for it. If you do want to sell your rifle and buy a bolt gun, you als o might want to consider a .308 Winchester or a .30-06 Springfield. Either will kill an elk and do great for black bear.

A Remington is a Remington no matter where they sell it. The reason Wal-Mart can cut prices is they buy in bulk which works out to a lower price per unit.

bscofield,Kmart caved in to anti gun groups. They were taking all handgun ammunition off their shelves.I' m not 100% but I think some of their stores stopped dealing with firearms completely. There was a Petition and a boycott against Kmart when this happened. I swore I would never step foot in another Kmart and I' ve lived up to it. Hopefully Kmart will be part of history soon.If they survive it won' t be from any of my money.

Have you tried taking it to a gunshow to do some trading or you might be able to sell your gun at the gun show just by walking arount with a 4 sale sign on it.
I might add that I have seen remington bdl 7mm mags for under $500 at gun shows. If you end up getting a ruger, don' t buy the one that has the flimsy sythetic stock, it' s a very inaccurate gun with that stock.
