Which bench rest for target shooting?
Hey folks looking around for a portable bench rest to take out and target shoot from. I see many styles, from just the gun rests to the gun rest and bench seat combos. Which seat/gun rest combo would you recommend (brand) and what price did you pay. Also if you could tell me where I can buy it. Thanks in advance. Looking for one to shoot from .22's up to 30-06's.

I have a Caldwell Lead Sled...it is a very good shooting rest, with good front and rear pads for recoil and You simply weight it down and then adjust the level to get on target. It is built well and isn't made of the light weight cheap plastic some Gun Rest are.I gave around $125.00 for mine and I have seen them on sale cheaper than that, plus they came out with a newer version that has 2 bottom trays to put more weight in.

Moved to the gun section. I like the Caldwell Rock.

Pickup bed and a backpack... This can run you several thousand dollars, but they are very mobile.

Bipod and rear bag, either off a table or terrafirma...

Too bad you said portable.
My favorite is 100lbs of shelled corn in a burlap sack. ;) |
