fiber optic front sights on shotgun
For x-mas santa brought me a browning gold. It has a stock white front bead on it. For rabbits it is hard to see because it does not contrast with the snow. does anyone have expirience with fiberoptic front sights. I think i want to get one that actauly replaces the stock bead and does not rest behind it. Also does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the screw that would be used to attach it to a browning gold? Thanks

RE: fiber optic front sights on shotgun
The only thing I can say about this is, that if you're seeing the front sight on a shotgun, you're aiming too much. For turkey hunting, it may be necassary to focus on the front sight, but for wing shooting, ie, rabbit shooting, you shouldn't be seeing the front sight at all.I took the front sights off of my sporting clays gun, no reason to even have front sights, as fas as I'm concerned, on a wing shooting gun.

yes...id have to agree with howler...a site on a wing gun is just about useless....i dont ever see mine...i dont even see the barrel or nething i jsut swing with it....but if its your style of shoting and you see the bead...put one on it cant hurt much

Bob,
I got one of the HiViz magnetic pieces for my Mossberg 500 that sits behind the white pin and it works great. If that florescent glow starts blending into the background........then you landed on the wrong planet. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> |
