barrel twist in 7mm-08

I am looking at a 7mm-08 with a 24" barrel. I have narrowed it down to two models one has a 9 1/4 twist and the other has a 9 1/2 twist.
Which twist is going to prvide better with accuracy with the 120 grain bullet. I may use the 140 grain accubond or the barnes 110 but I will shoot the 120's most often.

I'll venture a guess that either is fast enough to push 160s to the X. Slow is probably better here (theoretically :D) though the difference might not be seen..as other things will matter more

It isn't going to matter one bit.

Yep..flip a coin.

I don't think a 1/4" difference is going to matter much and I have never heard any complaints coming from 7mm-08 users saying their rifles don't stabilize bullets in that weight range. Stepping up to 160 grain bullets, I am not sure what will happen, but you indicated you are not interested in this, so like they said, flip a coin.

........What you need to do here is pick out the gun you like the best. As the others here have said, that slight difference in twist rate isn't gonna matter a hoot for what you want to shoot. Get what you're happiest with.

That little of distance/twist isn't going to make a big difference between the 2 different Guns!

What 2 Brands of 7mm-08 Rifle's are You looking at buying?

I've been checking into buying a Savage 7MM-08 Model 11 GCNS Hunter with the Wood Stock,Accu-trigger,Short-action with a rate of twist 1 in 11.5 inches, barrel length 22 inches. :cool2:

I've got an A-Bolt stalker in 7-08 that I've had for quite a while. I'm sure its 1:9 1/2. I have a Leupold 4-12 VII on it and it will group into a dime with Fed premium 140 gr ammo at 100 yds. Believe me-its the gun. Its a great round and probably responsible for killing off the 7x57 in the USA.
