Browning BLR good or bad?

Thinking of getting a BLR 223 seems to be a little more my style for a on saddle rifle than a AR or mini, but don't want to be disapointed.

I have never owned one, but have never heard anything bad about them.. The BLRs I have looked at handled well and appeared to be very well made..

A buddy of mine has one in .308 and one in 22-250 and loves them both..He uses the 22-250 for coyotes and the .308 for deer, moose and black bear...

very nice gun! shot my first mule deer with a .308. we were on a dry farm out of The Dallas oregon. i saw a group of 4 bucks about 2 miles away. shot and killed a 4 point from 2 miles away! kidding. no i actually ran all the way doen and up a hill looked over an edge they were 30 yards away. shot that buck 3 times before he could move 10 feet. i was a young trigger happy boy. i would think they are more accurate than the other levers out there, due to the locking mechanism they use. but i could be wrong also.

I bought a used BLR Lightning a year ago in .243 and it has quickly become my favorite rifle. Here is a picture of a coyote I shot with the kids in November while deer hunting.

Buy the rifle and you will never look back!

I had one in .30-06 back in the 60's and wish I still had it!

I've had four and they are great rifles. I currently have one in .358 winchester. I use it for bear and wild boar

My only complaint is they are too pretty to hunt with. I have owned 2 and sold them because I felt guilty taking them to the woods. Both were quality rifles. One of these days, I am going to find a used one beat up, buy it, and hunt with it.

Just tape them up with cammo tape. I do all my serious hunting rifles that way they look brand new when the tape comes off.

I have owned BLR rifles for over 25 years. My first is a Belgium made 308. They were made in 222 for a year or so and I have always wanted one but never found it. I did find one in 223 5 years ago and purchased it. It is suprisingly accurate.

i traded away my a-bolt 280 because i like my blr in 243 better. extremely light, deadly accuracte, easy to shoulder. it is a fantastic rifle. my uncle borrowed and shot a turkey from over 200 yards......how many lever guns can do that
