If your in a shooting house it probably won't shine like it would if your sitting outside with the glare from the sun hitting it.I won't put any gloss black scopes on my newer Deer Rifle's because sometimes I "Still Hunt" on the ground and I don't want the glare/shine from it to warn the Deer I'm there.

I've shot stainless steel rifles for years with no problems deer, elk, African game, etc.

Many moons ago I had a ruger 308 in ss, (this was before they started blasting them) and I swear that deer saw and was really worried by the shinny barrel. I painted the SS barrel for the rest of the year and had it blasted the next year. I mostly hunt with SS anymore and haven't had a deer look at one since. But anymore I think they all are blasted (except maybe savage) so I wouldn't worry about it.

Most stainless barrells are matte finished, and in my opinion are about the same color as alot of hardwood branches. I hunt pretty close most of the time, and as long as the deer dont see it move, I dont think they notice it anymore than blue (which is frequently shiny).

NO it won't

Not in my experience. I try to only let the deer see just the muzzle anyway! Seriously, I've never been busted by deer any more with a blued gun than a (matte) stainless or nickel finish.
