Rugar mini 14 sugestions

Does any have any sugestions on which 223 semiauto to get. I like the mini 14, but don't want to be disapionted.

If it was me, I'd wait a little longer, save the little bit of extra money that might be needed, and buy an AR15. Lots of good ones out there these days, and they generally are quite a bit more accurate than a Mini 14.

As soon as my .270 sells I'm gonna buy a Mini in 6.8 SPC...they aren't usually super accurate but they shoot everytime the trigger is pulled and pretty light and nimble...

Sold a mini over the summer and dont miss it a bit, accuracy was pretty poor. I think there are better choices for every task a mini would be used for. For just plinking/defense, Id go w/ a siaga or a WASR AK in 223 or even a remington 7615, cheaper and probably more accurate than a mini14. For a all around gun for hunting, etc.at longer ranges(100yd+) an AR15 would be the best choice.

I like the mini-14 for shorter range stuff. We often carry one along as a ranch rifle for yotes, though I wouldn't expect stellar accuracy from a plain one. A bolt gun does the trick when accuracy counts.

As mentioned above, accuracy is an issue. I think on mine Ruger "guaranteed" 9" at 100yds and it was an effort to get that. I've seen them accurized but you're probably better of with an AR. Have a friend who has one (AR) in 6.5 SPC which is impressive.

Go with an AR. Look into building it yourself and you'll save a bunch of money. Building one is easy to do and there are a lot of informative wesites to help. Check out ar15.com.
