.300 win mag?

A few weeks ago I put a thread out there about the Browning A-bolt M-1000 in 300 win mag. I like the gun, but now I may be leaning toward a Remington Sendero or possibly the XCR long range tactical. Both these rifles come with aluminum bedding and are 1 1/2 lbs lighter than the a-bolt with the boss, not to mention also are very pleasing to look at. I am still going to put a Zeiss scope with the rapid z on top. I am trying to put together a long range, as close to tack driver as possible without spending extra for smith work. Thanks everybody.

Out of box, I bet ya browning outperforms the sendero. I love remingtons because you still have the best action one can get. But if your not willing to put in some smithing TLC, go with browning. Looks are a strong second to performance.

My Sendero 300WM shoots .5MOA on average, I've shot it to 860 yds. Of course this is with handloads optimized for the gun, you shouldn't judge any gun by what it does with factory ammo. I've taken game to 683 yds (elk), it's an outstanding rifle. The only work I've done on it is to self-adjust the trigger.

If the A-bolt is heavier, I would opt for lighter if you are going to be hiking any distance with the gun. The Sendero is already plenty heavy.

If you check out the places long range hunters frequent, you will find that the Sendero has a loyal following as an excellent option for those not wishing to spend the coin on a custom gun.

Work up 200gr bullets or at least 180gr, you won't be disappointed.
