Help me with scope mounts.
 

My boy has one of the Rossi Combo's and I want to mount a scope on the 22 barrel. Does anyone know what scope mounts to use for that?

Not familiar at all with the gun but if it has a grooved receiver just about any standard grooved type m,ount will work. So check to see if there are parallel grooves running the length of the reciever or in this case above the chamber. Most modern 22 rimfires have these and there is a plethora of mounts that fit that design.

It's not grooved like my 10/22, it actually has 4 holes drilled and tapped in it, but they are really close together, unlike anything I've ever seen!

they make a base for it

screws are close together and base sticks forward a little ways over barrel/receiver junction

then it accepts regular weaver style width rings

and you will also need a hammer extension


oh -- they also make this a kit (base, hammer extension, and i think rings)

It may cost a little more than if the receiver was grooved, but you'll be much better off in the long run. Weaver mounts are far superior to a grooved receiver; even with the light recoil of a .22lr, the rings are known to slip in the groove. If you ever need to remove the scope they hold their zero when you reattach it.
