Just wandering on how many guns on average do hunters own?
 

Well just would like to know the average of guns hunters own.
I own 5 right now, but will own at least one more by the end of the year.
I would love to own quite a few more. With time I will certainly.

I own 7 (picked one up this year). I use to own 26 but my wife nagged about not using them that I sold all but what I use.

i have 14 guns but 7 of them are 10/22s that i have built..... 5 are rifles 2 are shotguns. and god willing many more over the years.

Not being nasty but really it' s nobody' s business what any of us own or have.Somethings are better left unsaid and this happens to be one of those topics.

I' ll have to agree with both Ruger and Archerman. It is really noones business but your own. Own as many guns as your comfortable with.

Wonder ... why the Batf bought some decommisoned U2 spy planes a few yrs back & other odd hardware?

In germany they have a tax on all of what you own etc, can come to your house too& look(search?), so many germans dump things to avoid the tax man... i heard.

Saw many immagrants etc who think that is a great idea too.

Socilists, protector of piegions& other flying rats, better be at least a duke to get that rifle, handgun ya want.

This topic always generates some interesting responses. Post a general question like this asking how many guns you own and some folks feel uncomfortable saying. Ask what caliber should I use and you' ll see a bunch of responses where folks give a complete inventory of their entire gun cabinet along with their recommendation.

I have three. Need one, have two others because I could. Must' ve had some money burning a hole in my pocket.

mine are all LEGAL and registered so i don' t care who knows what i have. including shotgunsmuzzleloaders and rifles. 12 from trading and buying better ones. hopefully will by atleast one more this year.

Most hunters I know that are just hunters only own 3 guns usually, a shotgun, a deer rifle, and a .22lr. If they are just hunters and have more than that, it' s usually because of some other reason than that they like having a back up, or a gun for every game type, it' s usually because they get their dad' s gun/s when he passes or they replace their old one with one that works, but can' t get rid of the old one for one reason or another.

Of course, I try to turn every hunter I know into a shooter, but there are many people that only have guns for what they are, tools to get the job done, nobody really needs more one of each of the above, maybe adding a .410 to your list beside the 12ga is fun, and some will have ' dad' s old rifle' beside their own deer/coyote rifle. Just have to remember that not everybody shoots for fun, and not everybody hunts everything they' re able too, I know MANY guys that don' t have a centerfire rifle, just a shotgun and a .22lr, some are just shotguns. I couldn' t imagine life with one gun per type, let alone one gun PERIOD!!

I' m working the other way, one gun per power-range per action type, i.e. having a semi-auto, bolt, lever, single shot, and slide deer rifle, a SxS, pump, bolt, and single shot 12ga, a single shot, pump and bolt .410, a lever, bolt, and semi-auto varmint rifle, etc and then add in handguns and big bores!!!! My fiance says that if I want to keep all of them, I have to use all of them:D;), I told her that the coffee pot will be waiting for her when she gets up, and I' ll be home later, and to repeat that line to herself every winter day!! " I' m sorry I spend so much time away from you, honey, but you did say I had to use them ALL!!" [>:][:-]

I tell my wife that all hunters and shooters usually own a couple dozen at least, so she feels sorry for me with my measly couple and tells me I should buy some more :D;):D.........it hasn' t worked yet [:' (]

All have to agree with some of the other members. It is nobodys business. All of mine are legal. I will put it this way. I own more shotguns than I shot. more pistols that are required, and not enough or the right rifles I need to complete my rifle battery. I try to buy 2 guns a year.

If you don' t want to say how many you have, then just don' t post. I' m not sure an exact count but I currently have over 100.
