Old model 99's
Just wondering if there is anyone out there still hunting with it.
I assume you are talking about the Sav model 99 lever if so yes My dad was out with me with his 300sav he is 89 bought it new when he was 16-in 1936 . My brother has a .308 model 99, I use to have one but stupidly sold it . They are very good rifles Dad has killed deer , antelope , muley's, bear, and caribou and other smaller critters.

I shot my deer with a mdl 99 in .308 last year. A great gun that I know in a few years I will wish that I hadn't traded off.
Trying to get my hands one .300 or .308
Shot my first few deer with a 300...wish dad wouldnt have sold it...loved that rifle...
I just bought one in .300 Savage right before our deer season. Did not get it's first taste of venison however.

Yep...Interested for sure.... |
Ive used this load and has work well in our guns it has taken several whitetails with one shot out to 275 yds meas by laser range finder. I had taken load data from a manual for this cartridge 38.5 gr of IMR 3031 , Hornady 150grain pointed soft point flat base and CCI large rifle primer, I trim to the proper lenght and debur and chamfer the case mouth and clean the primer pockets. When seating the bullet I do not crimp these bullets . This is a handy rifle and cartridge.>> Please load with care start out at like 35 grains and work up to the load as long as you dont seea pressure problems if you dont know what this means do some reading . >> Users assume all risk, responsibility and liability whatsoever for any and all injuries (including death), losses or damages to persons or property (including consequential damages), arising from the use of any data
