I think the guy should get a medal for making a shot on a running target after running 3 blocks himself.

The guy that did the shooting is in for a wirlwind of trouble. Just plain dumb. Shooting someone who was breaking into a vacant house, who was running away? Lawsuit time. I believe in protecting your property but this was stupid. There are several states I believe that you are allowed to shoot someone who is harming your property but was this even his? And I doubt Washington is a state that allows this either.

Punishment for the crime will only last a short while. Knowing that you shot a bad guy in the arse while running after three blocks of running after him with a compound bow, that lasts a lifetime. Like remember the time I .....
In all seriousness he's likely to be in some deep doo-do.

Now Tom,We all know this was an unethical shot.A compound bow ain't as powerful as a centerfire rifle. He should have waited for the better shot.A 30-06 or maybe a 7 should have been min. for a texas heart shot..........LOL
But seriously the guy who did the shooting is probaly in for a world of grief.Criminal charges and more likely than not a civil suit by the perpetrator.Any dummy should know you don't chase someone down and shoot them in the back especially if it is not your property.even if it is ,if their back is turned to you the law does not see them as a threat any longer. But like you said it would be a heck of a memory.
