Best way to sell a used shotgun?
 

Anyone have suggestions how to sell a used shotgun these days?

Is gunbroker etc... free to sell on? free to list?

Right now I just have it listed on another site I subscribe to.

I'd prefer to sell it to someone local to avoid shipping etc...
I'm in IL.

I think it's only worth about $300 if that matters any, as in I don't want to spend $100 to sell a $300 shotgun.

You could try posting it in the Classifieds section of this forum (scroll down a ways on the main forum page and you'll see it). I've always sold guns either to a dealer or private face to face deals. I've bought a couple guns through Gunbroker, and there is no fee to buyers, but i'd imaging there is a sellers fee as usual for auction sites, but I don't know what it is. Try the classifieds forum, maybe you'll find a buyer that's close enough to do a f-2-f transaction even if you both have to drive a little to meet in the middle.

Have you tried your local newspaper?
We also have a few free local forums that allow gun sales so you may want to look into that.
