Ok you won a free handgun from cabelas. Must be under 700 or so. What brand and caliber would you pick. Why.
I ask because i really like my glock i have shot rugers, 99 dollar cheapos and others but seems the glock has been the best. Though many seem to ask me how much trouble i have had. I have had not one issue. I love it. Sure the 21 is big and wide and heavy. It shoot good and had not jammed or misfired once. Not sure if i had it to do over again i would buy another brand. Now i like the .45 sure it cost me and i have always been a 9mm fan. But when i bought the glock i bought it for once reason. TO KILL SOMEONE IF THE NEED ARISES
I ant a person who says i bought this gun for target shooting and maybe i will need to use it. I bought it to do one job and though i wanted the 9mm for target shooting i saw no reason to take the 9mm over the .45 for self defense. Though i like both and want the glock 9mm.

For a defensive handgun, the Springfield XD's are real nice. I love mine, an XD-9 Service. Simple, safe, reliable and as accurate as a defensive pistol needs to be.

maybe trade the 700 for some therapy. Kinda oddball post if you ask me. I'd rather buy something that I will most likely shoot on a regular basis, than something I'd hope to never have to use. Amazing, people will worry themselves to death about what gun they are going have if they are ever attacked, and our troops take what they get. And ball ammo at that. I say if it goes bang it will work.

It would depend on what mood I was in that day whether it would be a pistol or new rifle. Maybe an AR style of weapon, or a revolver, or maybe a nice Remington XCR in .308. Heck, or maybe even a Marlin Guide gun in big bore.

I'd ask Cabelas if I could trade the $700 handgun for a $700 credit and apply it towards some marine electronics. Thats just me personally. I don't have much use for a handgun myself.

I agree with the XDs, mines a 40sw and I love it.

XDm!! Would be my choice...followed by an M&P...both in a .40cal.

LOL my reasoning is i want to get another handgun and am not sure if i want another matching glock or say a 357 or a m9. I bought the gun for defense not to shoot. Ammo cost to much. Why tell my self or anyone else i bought to for another reason. I do not worry what i have incase i need it. I buy the best be it for defense, hunting, or just target shooting. The military has a great side arm. I know alot of guys from iraq who's only issue with the m9 is the fact it is 9mm over 45. I bought the glock because 90% of law enforcement here carry them

So you're getting a $700 refund from your student loan and cant decide whether to buy a pistol or make a gun room in your basement?

It's kind of like insurance or a seat belt. You hope that you never have to use them but you are dang sure glad you have them when the crap hits the fan.

The troops don't have to worry about concealed carry in the summer time when they are dressed in shorts and a t-shirt at the beach.

If it were me and I had a $700 gift certificate I would have a few on my list to look at.
