Ruger Single six at 12
Remington 1100 and Marlin 30-30 at 15

What I wouldn't give to have those guns back. Traded them like baseball cards. Unfortunately, not much has changed, except better guns. Would have never guessed I had all the guns I would ever need by age 15.

No matter how much a woman says she wants to hunt, no woman wants a rifle for a present, let her use your gun and get her some jewelry or some nice girly boots for xmas. youll get alot more "bang" for your $$$ trust me.:D

Red Ryder at 8 (was cool, Fred Harman - the RR cartoonist - lived up the road)
Savage .22LR at 10
Remington 600 .243 at 12
Remington 870 12 ga at 15

The only one I don't still have is the Red Ryder.

And yes, it's true. If you give your girl a firearm, make sure it's accompanied by glittery things.

Thats funny, I actually bought a Red Ryder about 20 years ago. The ones they make now are pretty bad.

Got the wife a nice camo jacket last year for Christmas. Kinda got the "oh. this is nice" disappointment thing. At least until she tried it on and found a pair of pearls in the pocket.

Well I feel a bit better now, thanks unclehomer. My son has been reloading with me since he was 4, shooting bb gun with me since he was 3 and 22 since he was 4 as well. I have an old Winchester bolt action single shot that I would sit with him and shoot till he could prop it up by himself. I have been handloading 100gr half jacket Hornady bullets over Trailboss in the 30-30 since last fall and he loves that. We went to the gun shop and tried a few guns and the TriFecta just seemed to fit him best and cover all bases. He has been with me when I have bagged deer, turkey and grouse and loves it. I figure the $300 now is better than throwing $20-$60 at video games to keep him entertained. I gave him the .243 for now and he gets the 22 and 20 gauge barrels for Xmas.
