slug guns

H&R ultra slug hunter -vs- Browning a bolt- vs- savage slug warrior- vs- mosberg bolt. :poke:

the browning a bolt is no longer made right?
how about the mossberg bolt? still made?

I'm in the same dilemna you're in, and personally for me it's between the browning bps, and savage bolt. Could get an 870 and have tarhunt customize it etc...but I think the savage is probably the best design currently being made, aside from a tarhunt at 3grand. Closest thing to it...

that hr slug hunter is too ugly for me, also single shot? totally not my kind of gun. May shoot well though, not sure. So unless it shot better than the other 3, I wouldn't even consider it.

I have a Marlin model 55, the old goose gun with the barrel cut to 20". It's not rifled but I machined my own scope mount and I glass bedded the receiver. It's not for long range like todays guns with sabots, but I get 4-6" groups at 100 yards with Winchester foster slugs.

If I were to have a designated "Slug Gun" only it would have to be the Brownie. They are a bit pricey.I shot one that belonged to one of my buds.I was very impressed.
