Savage 110 .30-06

I've been looking for a .30-06 and found a used Savage 110 with a wood stock and no optics
for $280. The gun appears to have been well taken care of.
I've been looking on Gun Broker and the prices are all over the place.... plus the added FFL and shipping costs.
What do you think? Is it a decent price or should I keep looking?

Buds Gun Shop, in KY. has them new for $543.00 Your price of $280.00 doesn't sound bad it just depends on all the other add ons.

I've got rings and a scope, so I'm OK from that end.

I'm guessing this is one of their older one, pre-accutrigger. My first centerfire was Savage 110E in 30-06. I liked it, I'd still have it if it weren't stolen.

Which 110 are you talking about? The Classic goes for considerably more than the basic versions.

My thought is that it's fair. For comparison, a Stevens 200 is the basically the same gun with a synthetic stock and is listed on the savage website for $399.

That's a good price if the gun's in good condition. I think they run around $500 new. Half price...go for it :)

Thanks guys. I'm also looking at a NIB Marlin XL7 and NIB Howa 1500.

Slow Down

Take your time and be careful. Which 110 is it?? People above saying the 110's sell for $500 do not know what they are talking about. I sold the old 110-E's for $188. So make sure you know which 110 you are buying.

If it is one of the older 110 E's then I would definitely pass. The price is too high, and the quality of the rifles were minimal at best. They kick like a mule, and the triggers are horrendous. The new Savage's are a considerably better rifle. The older 110's have a plain Beech wood stock.

Slow down a little bit and shop around. Tom.

If its one with the accu trigger, (newer 110) then go for it. My parents both have savages with the accu trigger and they are great!! Very accurate and nice looking for the price tag...around 500ish...if its one of these, I would buy it.
