copper fouling

What is a good solvent to clean copper fouling? I was going to try the blue wonder but it seems to be on back order everwhere.

I hear the Barnes Copper remover is pretty good.

I love Sweets 7.62

That's a pretty good line-up right there.

I'm a benchrest long range competitor and get a chance to see alot of guys in action cleaning just about everything made on the planet and the one product that I see used only when alot of fouling is showing is called "TM"..and also "GM" top engine cleaner..... now remember these are not standard of the shelf barrels and most of these guys baby them beyond anything that a hunting barrel would ever see in a lifetime, I can tell you that "TM" is awesome but make sure you wear gloves, it will remove your top layer of skin also....

I use shooters choice and montana extreme for copper removal, for powder residue it's eau de hoppe's #9

I use wipe-out followed by Butch's for general cleaning. Every 2-3 cleanings I'll plug the barrel and soak it in Barnes CR-10 for 20 minutes, it strips copper very well. But wear gloves and keep it out of your action, it's not mild stuff.

KG-12, unbeleivable stuff. I used to use Sweets until I tried this stuff. There is no comparrison. Much Faster, can't really say cleaner because sweets does a great job, but KG-12 is a lot faster.

I've used Sweets 7.62 and Barnes CR-10 interchangeably.......... both get the job done well.

I have tried Sweets 7.62, Butches Bore Shine, and Bore Tech Eliminator. Of the 3 Bore Tech worked the best for me and it has not odor. If I use Bore Tech after Sweets or Butches I get blue patches but if I use Bore Tech first and then try Sweets or Butches they come out clean.

i use the shooters choice now and i like it. i've used their bore solvent for a very long time and have always liked it. then i started to use their other products and liked them as well. so now i primarily use all of their product line for cleaning and maintenance. i'm not saying that they're the best, but they are good products. i like the stuff, and i've wanted to use one product line anyways.

from recommendations from this site several years ago i've used sweets 7.62 with good results as well. i feel that any of the ones that have been listed so far will work well. i guess it may boil down to availability if you like to buy stuff loacally. most of this stuff can be had easily on line if you don't mind waiting a few days for it.
