243 ammo?
So, there's a problem with the trusty 270. While I'm getting it fixed I was going to use my 243 that I havnt even shot yet still in the box. I've always used coreloks in my 270 and never lost a deer. But I've never shot a round like a 243. Are coreloks what you want for deer. What grain do I need. Thanks for the.help.

100 gr coreloks are just fine for deer.Thats all i hunt with 243,i shoot win super x 100 gr. and they work perfect!!!!!!Put the bullet in the right spot, you'll be havin backstraps fer dinner!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used the 85grain BTHP for years.. It has more speed and knock down power than all of the 100 grain bullets, you wont get an exit hole, but you won't need one.. If you want an exit hold try the 85 Grain Barnes Triple X..

A buddy has a Remington 7400 in .243. He shoots Winchester soft points or power points or whatever they are called and they seem to work just fine. They tried the Remington Core Lokts too but for some reason they jam in the gun.

hornady lightmag** works great in mine, hold way better groups than the rem and win. use 95 grain have shot two with it on headshot other lungs niether went far. will say that the rem shot better than the win shells.** thats just in mine everyones may be different.* The 243 is a tack driver anyways, my worst groupa are 2.5 inches at 1oo
