25-06

HEAD feels about quarter bores the way I feel about 270s (I despise them)
You would be wasting your time to try convincing me that I should get a 270 over a 30-06 or 25-06 PERIOD. I can't stand the thought! So I know how the feeling is

I picked up a Tikka T3 in 25-06 just for the simple fact of using 85 gr bullets for coyotes or 100 gr Barnes tsx bullets or even 115's for deer hunting. I loved the action on the rifle as well and figured I would give it a shot. I reload so obtaining ammo is no problem however primers ar another issue. I am happy with the performance and it works for me.

The 25-06 is a great deer round. Of course there are hundreds of
great deer rounds.
I could never tell the difference between the 117/120gr 25s
130gr 270s, and 150 30-06s, on even the biggest deer.
I mean when cleaning the deer too, not just killing power.
We load all three here in '06 cases.
We have cleaned three seperate deer, several times, when all 3 calibers were used on the same morning.
The wounds are virtually the same (now we load each with JSP ammo, no ballistic tips. That might make a difference).
Just my observation.
The deer had no observation!
