Default Need Recommendation for .22 scope

I' ve been shooting my .22s over iron sights for many years, but now would like to put a good quality scope on a Ruger 10/22. Suggestions for rings/bases also welcome.

Thanks!

Al

I really like the Leupold VX II and thats what my 77/22 wears. I have a friend that swears by his Bushnell Banner 3X9 which is mounted on a 10/22. I know he has never had any trouble with it. That might be the way to go if you want to save yourself a few bucks. Bases and rings? I like Leupold or Burris.

Hope that helps some.

Try the Siimons .22 Mag 3-9X33 AO. Mine has been great!

i just bought the simmons 4x32 scope and put it on a brand new marlin 22. it was a wopin 50 bucks and bass pro and i love it. no need to blow the bank on a 22 and i got it all for $170. but i love the scope, cheap and good quality.

What ever you pick just be sure that you go with a 1" scope tube and don' t put one of those 3/4" scopes on it.

Strut took my answer...LOL

DON' T put a 3/4" scope on it! A .22 is receptive to most scopes...but don' t get skimpy.

A nice 3-9X will do the trick!

Thanks, guys for your suggestions. For sure the scope will be a 1 inch variety. Whether it will be a variable or fixed is still up in the air. I' ll be checking what is available, at the range the next couple weekends and then make a selection. In the meantime, keep your suggestions coming!

I bought a 4X32 Simmons 22 Mag off eBay and it is just perfect for my .22. Shot the eyes out of the squirrels this season.

I have a Simmons 22 Mag 4X32 and it' s crystal clear and holds zero since I bought it 2 years ago. Cabelas sells it for 39.99 and you might be able to get it even cheaper at some of the other shooting supply companies. I bought mine from Midway when they had it on sale for about $36.
