heavy barrel for ruger 10/22?

can you install a heavy barrel system the comes with a heavy barrel and a stock to a regular 10/22?

Yes you can.There are many kits that are available and they are easily installed.I have a butler creek barrel and stock on mine as well as a volquartsen hammer and trigger spring.The result is that the rifle now averages 1/2" groups at 50 yards.

Ther are more upgrades available for the 10/22 than most any other gun out there, I think that is partly what makes them so popular. And the ease of switching the parts like stubblejumper said.

Sportsmans Guide currently has a set of heavy barrel/stock combos available for about $160 .
