will cheap ammo hurt my gun ?

If I buy a $9 box of .270 ammo, will it hurt my gun in anyway ?

PS. this ammo is just for plinking.

Well, I've never heard of corrosive .270 ammo, so I'd plink away!

is it really old or reloads? if it looks old or reloaded id pull the bullet or if you dont reload have someone that does pull a few and make sure they are ok....and have the rite measurments...or take your chances....

There's not a chance that it will hurt your rifle.

Our local Walmart sells Rem. 270 win ammo for $9.27 if that is what you mean no it wont hurt your gun. If it is something else try and let us know more info about it and maybe someone can give you a better answer .

Unless it is some old, unmarked military stuff (which ain't likely in .270), feel free to shoot it up......and lots of them. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

PMC, UMC, & American (made by Federal) all offer rounds at very reasonable prices and are great for initial sight-in & plinking purposes.

Greets,
Well if its factory ammo, and not reloads (comercially made reloads I consider factory), then I say go for it. I dont expect you will have any problems at all, though you might not get the accuracy you want, but plinking ammo is just that, plinking.)

Just my uneducated opinion!

I've shot cheap ammo out of lots of guns...and I've never had a problem. As a matter of fact, I like the cheap ammo. It gives me excuses for when I miss!!! (Which happens more often as I age)

The Cabelas ammo is No Problem. I've shot a ton of their .308 rounds with no ill effects (and pretty darn accurate as well).
