Remington Corelokt 125 Grain 30.06

Just curious to see if anyone uses this bullet on whitetails and how it performs. I'm thinking about trying it out at some point. I like the fact that it has very similar ballistics to a 130 gr. 270 bullet. Any help is appreciated.

I like the 180g .30-06 Core Lokts.

Those two bullets are quite different actually. A 125gr .308 cal has a ballistic coefficient of .309, and has a very low sectional density. A 130gr .277cal has a BC of .395 and a much higher sectional density.

150s are probably as low as I would go, at 06 velocities and would work good on deer , personally I think the 06 and 180s just go together like PB&J.

I loaded the 125 gr. Sierra Spitzer in '06 and .308 Win. for my Dad towards the end of his hunting days due to less recoil for him. He smoked a lot of deer with that bullet, and he dropped a nice 7 pt. over 200 yds. with one shot. It folded up like an accordian.
Do I consider it to be a great whitetail bullet? Not really. The BC and SD are not the best for either of those calibers when it comes to that type of hunting. But it worked for my Dad and his needs. It was more of a "specialty" load for a given situation. Accuracy-wise, it shot really well in both of the aforementioned guns, and was a pleasure to shoot for sure. JFWIW......
