+ 1 Pachmayr or LimbSaver
http://www.gunaccessories.com/Pachma...Pads/Rifle.asp http://www.gunaccessories.com/limbsaver/index.asp I use Pachmayr on all my shotguns and rifles. |
Both Pachmayr and Limbsavers work well. The Pachmayrs look more like they belong on a wood stock and the Limbsavers look like they belong on the black tupperware stocks.

I prefer pachmayr's feel, looks and usabilty. However LS are more cushy and do appear to absorb a bit more then the pachmayr's. If you only have troubles at the range, like most do the another option is a Past pad (this is transferable to other guns & shooters). It works very well on the range and doesn't effect LOP in the field which can be an issue with slip ons or the ready fit (DYI) models for some shooters.

Are they worth it? Do they work at all? Last time I shot a box thru my 06, my shoulder was red from the recoil.
What kind of stock is on your rifle(assuming you have a Remington rifle)? |
The limbsaver really tamed the recoil of my 870 turkey gun. It worked so well that I went and bought two more. Their customer service is second to none also.

It's a Remington. I bought a Pachmyr pad. That helped a lot.
