Another rookie question
 

thanks for everyone being so helpful. I have a winchester model 70 post 64 that my father gave me with a nice crack in it. I would like to find a another stock for it and see them advertised on ebay alot. how do i know which one will fit my gun? its a 30-06 if that helps as well

or know of a place that sells nice replacement stocks for this gun

Look in gunparts on www.gunsamerica.com or you can get some neat stuff from richards microfit.If you don't have to have wood go with one of the new syn.with the full length aluminium bedding block

Unf. im not into synthetic, but a nice wood stock.

well the gun i have now doesnt have a floor plate

like the thumbholes, but not sure thumbhole is what i want
