Can this gun shoot steel?

I have an older 12 ga. Brizialian made Amaded Rossi S.A. side-by-side double barrel. One barrel is full and the other modified. Can it shoot steel without damage.

Help!

With the modified choke it should do fine,i would not shoot it through the full choke though. What are you going to be hunting with it?

Like 13point said. The full choke would probably take a beating after a few shots and start showing wear.

Here in Nevada on federal land you have to shoot steel on everything. I have other guns I use regularly but haven't shot this one in a while and was going to use it on upland game and possibly waterfowl. Just like shooting it!

Its the same here in Washington State. You gotta use steel on waterfowl. What, in some areas this has been going on for nearly 30 years or so and people are still having a hard time adjusting lol.

In NV you even have to use steel shot on upland game (fed land that is). I use a Rem 870 pump most of the time. I have a couple of them.

It just depends on how old your gun is. If it is more than 20 years old I would not recommend shooting steel shot in it. Most guns that old just weren't made to handle steel. Although it is quite expensive, I would suggest getting some bismuth shot for it. If you reload you can cut a lot of the cost from $2.50 a shell to about $1.00 that still isn't cheap, but it is cheaper than a new gun.

With the mod choked barrel your fine. You can get the full choked barrel converted to a mod choke so it too can be used. I did that with my older 870 and have shot lots of steel waterfowl loads through it with no signs of trouble.
