Which load for 17 hmr?

17 grain or 20 grain, which does the least damage on squirrels and rabbits(range 20-100 yards). How far should i zero the scope?

If you want to shot 100 yards - then zero it in at 100 yards.

If you are concerned about wind, then go with the 20 gr loads.

With the 17 gr, zeroed at 100 yards, you'll be almost half an inch low at 25 yards. .20 inches high at 50, and .40 inches high at 75.

You might want to consider what your average shooting distance is, not your range. If most of your shots are at 50 or less, zero at 50. 75 or better, zero at 100.

They're both going to do damage, go with whatever shoots better. Mine likes the V-Max better than the hollow points.
