200 grains @ 2400 good Elk gun?
 
stats i pulled off net for Marlin express. does this sound like a good elk/ mulie cartrige?

WHAT CALIBER. from what you said,for elk yes at about 100-150 yards.For mulies,i would use a 270,7mm mag,a flat shootin cartridge,cause you might have to make a long shot,it would be good at 100-150 yards to.

338 marlin express

Yes, the 338 marlin express will make a great elk rifle.

Hornady lists their ammo at over 2500 fps at the muzzle but even at 2400 fps it will make a fine elk rifle.

Provided you can get it there accurately it will do just fine on a 300 yard poke at an elk.
