Winchester 94 32 spl

I have a Winchester model 94, chambered in 32 spl. I found it was made in 1952. I am taking it to my gun shop to get refurbished but could anyone tell me how much its worth, after it gets refurbished.

I think the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming has Winchester's records. You'll probably need to furnish them with the serial number. www.bbhc.org

Gunbroker has them starting at about $450. I am not sure what you are refurbishing, but it will probably detract from the value.

The wood needs to be redone there's scratch marks all over the frame.

If you are dead set to have it "refurbished", I'd make darn sure the person who is going to do this has lots of experience. About the last thing you need to happen to that gun is for some heavy-handed dolt washing out the screw holes and the lettering when buffing it for re-blueing, rounding off sharp corners and/or sanding the wood too much that it is below metal levels. That particular gun has increased in value quite a bit in recent years, and most collectors perfer their pieces in original, untouched condition. Just something to think about....:s13:.....

Less

It will be worth less after you refurbish it.

But if you are going to use it then who cares. If you want to sell it then sell it now, and do not waste the money on refurbishing. Tom.

Can you post a picture of it?
How good is the bluing on it ?

I have a Model 64 Winchester ( the pistol grip, longer barrel version of the 94) manufactured in 1956 in 32 Win Special. Many years of hard hunting on it, missing 50 % of the bluing and lots of nicks in the stocks. Last offer to buy was $500.......I wouldn't sell it for 10 times that.

......I know where there's another one just like yours...and it can't be bought.....I've tried..:s1:..... Just goes to show ya what a gun REALLY can be worth on the market regardless of what the "books" say....
