which weatherby?

i am going to buy a weatherby vangaurd in 30-06 spring. the two i have narrowed it down to is the weatherby vangaurd stainless synthetic, the weatherby vangaurd synthetic, and the weatherby vangaurd deluxe.

If it is just between those two I would go stainless synthetic. IMO shiny stocks do not belong on a hunting rifle.

Having said that, my first choice in the vanguard line would be the stainless sporter and second the sage country.

I have a vanguard deluxe and it is really heavy. I would go synthetic stainless.

If I were going to get a Weatherby, I'd change my mind and get a Browning A-bolt or a Remington 700.

Just kidding! I've never owned a Weatherby that I can recall. I just love my A-bolt 30.06 and I love all of my 700's.

I inherited three Wby mag's: 300, 7mm & .257. All of them are Vangaurd deluxe. They are a bit heavy for function, but the wood is beautiful. If I was going to be hiking all day in rain, the lighter synthetic would be my choice. Since I mostly stand hunt and I inherited the guns...

You will never be sorry with a WBY.
