ORIGINAL: eldeguello

I like Tru-Oil. It is linseed with drying agents included.

FWIW, I think Kimber uses tung oil on their stocks...or so I was told by a Kimber tech.

RE: Refinishing rifle stock

Hunting on the coast of BC in alot of rainy weather, I have done alot of stock refinishing and tried alot of products. Tung Oil will go whitish if it gets really wet but even when wet it seems to keep the wood sealed and a quick additional coat gets rid of the whitissh look instantly. I have tried adding driers too it and it certainly speeds up the process, but in the end have not seen an appreciable difference, so I stick with tung oil now...It also does not darken the wood as much as BLO seems to do.....
