Default Ruger 22/45 Mark III Range Report

Well last weekend my wife bought me a new Ruger 22/45 Mark III for my birthday and then wrapped it and told me to I had to wait three weeks till my birthday to open it. Well, thank God that she doesn't have much patience because whe gave it to me this weekend.

I took it out this afternoon and gave it a good run through of Remington Golden bullets and CCI MiniMags. After 240 round there were no failure to ejects, no failure to fires, and only one failure to feed, it was only because I tried to start a new mag by hitting the mag release button a quick tug on the bolt and away she went.

Accuracy was better then my shooting. I could consistantly hit my spinner and a coke can at 25 yards by doing my part off hand. I plan to practice alot this summer and use it to scuirrel hunt this fall.

My spinner will never be the same.

15 yard off hand 10 shot 1/2'' center dot

7 yard rapid fire 10 shot 1/2'' center dot

This is going to be a fun summer.

They are incredible shooting machines, especially when you consider their cost. I have the same exact model you have. What I did was get rid of the goofy magazine disconnect safety by simply installing an mk2 hammer & chucking the magazine safety lever & it's spring.

I think the are very accurate. I have several 22/45's and Mark III's. I don't care for the new grip they started putting on them. For me it's too thin and it feels strange in the grip. But the older models i love everything about em.

Its 22lr only I did shoot the CCI 22lrMini Mags out of it no problem but it is not made to shoot 22wrm's if that is what you are asking. It was $259 at a local shop here in town which from what I see is about midrange for this gun.

Yeah the grip is a little narrow I was thinking about getting a Hogue handall to see if that helps.

I have one of those as well as the Mark II's. The only problem I have found on the .22/45 is if you don't pull the tip of the first shell up before you load the clip sometimes it will not feed. It feeds great after the first one. The thing I like about them is they are really built tough. I have run several thousand rounds through mine with no problems.

from what jeffs said i have the same problem about having to raise the bullet before it will feed properly. also the pin holding in the rear sight in place keeps sliding out. but i still like the pistol only maybe with a scope heh heh heh.
