Yea...sounds like the scope. You probably could sight down the side of the barrel and do better than 5" at 50y.hehehe
............Same thing as using a Tasco.............
I've seen Trashco's that worked better than 5" @ 50 yards....

You just found out why the gun was sold with a Pentax scope on it. Shoot the open sights then, First ensure that the the bases and rings are tight. Second buy about six boxes of ammo of different weight bullets and manufacturer. Third shoot you'll see what the gun likes. I have heard from quite a few the 750's seem to like regular old green box remington express. Some have stated it seems like they optimized the gun for them.

even the shoddiest rifle should be able to do better then that at 50 yards, my first thought would be the scope. Do you have another scope on another rifle that you know is good? If so i would switch it over to this rifle and see what it does.

i took one of my kids laser lights and wrapped it in some coin wraps then wedged it so that the light shone down the barrel (make sure that the rifle is unloaded). next i made sure that it stayed in place then i tried to sight it in. next i turned the scope to the right position lol and adjusted the cross hairs to the little dot. next i took out the rifle out and adjusted it for range.
