Default Pa to push for Gun ban

Gov Ed Rendell is trying to reinstate the assault weapons in Pa. He believes the Police are out gunned but they have access to real assault weapons not the semi-auto rifles we buy now. The old assault weapons ban showed that it didn't affect gun violence. Criminals can get guns just as easy as the drugs they sell which I might add are already illegal. Criminals don't care about the laws we have now. Rendell's argument is Pa has no use for them but many of these semi-auto rifles especially the AR-15 type platform are used for competition shooting and home defense. Why punish law abiding citizens because of another's sins. If he wants to do this with guns why not ban cars that go over 15mph because people are killed by drunk drivers. I ask that everyone email the governor and suggest that he take a look at the constitution.

Definition: Criminal, One who does not abide by the rules set forth bya governing body.
A criminal does not care if there is a silly assult weapons ban in place, The ban did not work before, you know it, I know it and ol' ed rendell knows it. We should pray!

I read a post similar to this last night and got on Rendell's site and sent him an email tactfully telling him he was an idiot. He is probably either going to ignore my email or the state police will be showing up at my door.
I love hes quote that the police departments are undergunned and undermanned. But when I asked our sheriff to deputize me he said that the state does not allow that any more..... go figure. Even if I took the minimum mandatory training. I already sucessfully went through handgun qualification trainingfrom a NRA certified firearms instructor.

Sorry but not surprised to hear about this ill-conceived attempt. Hopefully, the good folks of PA will not fall for this stuff!
