I need to see some 30-30 pictures.
I am thinking of making over my Marlin 30-30 its bone stock right now and has the see thru weaver mounts and a cheap $30 tasco. Its shoots great and the scope never drifts but it may be time for a makeover. I just need some ideas. Its a hunting rifle now and will stay that way. Any ideas?

No pictures for ya....but did put a band on the tube magazine and one in the stock so it could accept a sling, was easy to put on and maybe $20 or so.
Put a 2-7x Nikon on it from another rifle....to replace the permanent 4x.
Really don't use it much at all though, though can't part with it either.
Think it kicks harder than my .270 due to the fact it has no pad at all, may put something on the butt of it.
Oh years ago had it re-blued and mag-na-ported.

The first thing I'd do is get rid of that see-thru mount......

go to marlinowners.com - more pictures than you ever care to see. Look on the forums under the "leather" section. Theres a guy on there that that section is kinda based around who does amazing work for all rifles

The first deer rifle I ever had was a Marlin 336 30-30 with see through mounts and a4x scope. I never had a problem with the see through mounts, but I guess it's all in what you get used to.

The name of the guy who does the leather is "Lever". He is a super guy to deal with. I spent a 1/2 hour on the phone telling him what I wanted, then the wife bought it for me this past Christmas. I couldn't be happier.
