Default which scope

I am putting a rifle on my scope ive kinda narrowed it to 2 og these 2 which woould you chose? It will be used for deer hunting Id say most shots would be from 100 to 200 yards. One place shots can run to 500 yards. It may also shoot an occasional groundhog or coyote. It will be on a 257 Weatherby Mag. My 2 choices are these.
Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 with rapid z 600 reticle the other is Sightron SII BIG SKY 4.5x14x42 AO with HHR reticle
Id really appreciate any info

i have a conquest 3x9x40 in the z-plex and i absolutly love it......,best glass for the $$$ IMHO. If it were me, with a flat shooting .257wby, i would opt for the 4.5x14x44 conquest, its another $200 or so more than the 3x9, but thats only about 3 boxes of factory loads for that hot rod!!!!!

I'd also go with the Conquest. That Rapid Z 600 is the bugs nuts and the glass is very good. However, the Sightron is no dog, but I don't like A.O.'s on regular big game rifles. The Sightron 3-9 X 42 with the HHR reticle would work very well and is over a $100 cheaper (usually). Good luck, those are very good choices.

The Zeiss is top notch no question about that but I would go with the Sightron that are gaining a great reputation and with the effective rang of the Weatherby you may want the extra power. You can shot 600+ yards with the 3x9 but the 14 power will make it easier.

Here is my dilemma guys I used to have a vxIII 3.5x10x50 When I would sight it in,I could'nt see the little 1 inch squares,so it was very hard to sight in. I do agree shooting a deer at the yds 6 power is all that is needed.I also have a 50$ refund on the Sightron,I have a limit of 600$ I dont mind paying at extra 50 if the Zeiss would be the better scope

may consider the conquest in 4.5-14x44 orx50with the z800 reticle, I would think the ultraflat shooting .257wby would be closer to the z800 than the z600...

also on long shots 14x is my preference over 9x.
