which 204 ruger factory ammo
Just started shooting my new model 700 rem in 204 ruger.I am going to start reloading it soon but until i get some where to pick up dies I have been shooting factory ammo.I have triedhornady 32 gr vmax and got pretty good groups out of them.Today I tried fed. 39 gr seairra blitzkings and the shot ok but not as good as hornadys. Not sure it it is the ammo or the bullet weights.Anyone have any suggestions or anyone shot any other brand ammo and had luck.

RE: which 204 ruger factory ammo
If you're going to buy factory ammo now but plan to handload, then I'd recommend buying whatever factory brand has the cases you plan to make your handloads with. So if you like Remington cases, buy Remington factory ammo so you have the brass to handload later. Another benefit is that it'll be fireformed to your chamber after you shoot the factory ammo, ready to neck size and start the load work up.

What driftrider said, having said that though if your planning on handloading then I would just buy a bag of brass and the dies and start load development.

I never could get anything heavier than the 32gr bullets to shoot well out of my 204.
