Mine has no iron sights & a 24" barrel.If you go on the Rem. website they don't even list ADL's.I thought that Rem. discontinued ADL's. Like I said eairler it has to a production run for hi volume buyers.

When the sps first came out I bought a sps blue in 22/250 for $419 + tax.When I first got it it wouldn't chamber even a factory shell,sent it back now it loads and shoots fine.Right after that they took the sps blue in 22/250 off the list on their web site.Just checked it is not listed now but is in the sps SS.
Also bought a sps SS in 270 win,for $469 + tax.They sure have went up on them.
They are very accurate,both will shoot one hole groups at times.I put a bell and carlson medalist stock on the 270.Looks great too.

Lots of votes for the remy, i however would say Savage. I have a savage rifle that was damn near perfect right out of the box. Most accurate rifle i have and i love the accutrigger. Its a solid performer. My family has serveral remy's and they are not that bad but i could never justify the cost difference for a remy when everyone of them i shot either needed a trigger rework or wasn't nearly as accurate as my savage.

I wonder if your dealer was more the exception than the rule. I know at least two of my local dealers would laugh if you asked them to match a Walmart price. I understand where they are coming from, but they have to understand where I'd be coming from, too. My duty isn't to make sure they stay in business and make a comfortable living. I don't buy into the "support the little guy no matter how bad he's ripping you off" mentality. If I can save a substancial amount of money and get what I want at a comparable value somewhere else, sorry about his luck.

I paid like $549 from Sportsmans Warehouse for my SPS Stainless. My favorite gun I own...
Although like others have said buying online and paying for shipping and dealer transfer fees is alot more useful seeing as how tax at 6 or 7% ads an additional 30 or 40 bucks onto a gun as is. If you can save on the price, then the tax, its no biggy to pay the shipping and processing fee and walk away with a smile on your face.

I own 2 Rem 700's.One is a SPS in 22-250 and that thing shoots .5in groups at 100yds.And I own just a plain jane 700 in 30-06,that is my deer cannon,never have shot a group with it,but I can tell you I have never missed with it! "Knock on wood"
