My wife got me this for Christmas and I have spent the last two months getting it set up. I am working on some handloaded 180 gr. SSTs I have shot one .577" group so far but I am still working on consistancy.

Very Nice, Very Nice, sounds like the 180 grain is the bullet to shoot in that. Whats the velocity with that load?

I don't have a chrono right now but my guess is between 3150 fps and 3200. I haven't reached max yet so I have a few more rounds to try that I am sure will take me over 3200 fps.

Very nice setup. Is that the Vanguard Deluxe or the Sporter? If it's the less expensive Sporter version, it's got some pretty decent wood on it for a rifle in that price class.

haha I can barley tell a buck from a doe at 400 yards on 10 power with my Nikon Monarch.

I guess you go have the binoculars though. I didn't think about that. It's not very practical for me to carry them around with me.

When my wife got it it had been in stock since 2006 I think it was a run that WBY did back then where the sporter and deluxe had the same stock but different finishes. It was labeled a Sporter DLX. Its unique and that is one of the things I really like about it.

very clean looking rig....... i had to look twice at that stock action....weatherby...stock had me look twice, it is a unique weatherby indeed!
