Any red dots holding up to the 500 S&W
 

I have a buddy that just bought the 500 with the long barrel and he asked me about a red dot, Not sure if any will hold up to the recoil. Anybody have experience?

They are a little pricey, but Doctor Optics makes a red dot that can handle it. There may be others but this is the only one I have experience with. My buddy and I both bought 500 S&W's and he put one on his and so far it's held up to over 100 rounds without a hitch.

i know any "aimpoint" brand will hold up. i have an aimpoint model 9000SC on top of my 12 ga. slug gun. over 100 3" slugs without a problem. top notch construction

Zeiss z point. runs about $400- 450.00 retail but ifyou are lucky you can pick up a slightly used onein the low 300's
