Best long range coyote caliber?
 

What caliber rifle (in the .22 area) would be the best for long range coyote hunting? .223, 22-250, .243? Something possible of 300 yards if not more and still knock them over?

The 220 swift or the 22-250 are both excellent choices for 300 yard shots and further on coyotes.

I like my .220 swift,there are some problems in getting some ammo but its still readily available.I use to shoot hornaday before I reloaded ,so I just started reloading there 40gr vmax @ 4150-4200 fps.My rifle is a ruger m77 target. They dont chamber it any more but it is a great rifle to me after a little trigger work.

.22-250, .243, bigger bullets buck the wind better, and at 300yds+ something to consider...

6mm/284 is the ULTIMATE long range yote caliber! Only problem is it's still a wildcat cartridge but not an issue if you reload.

I built a 240Wby. on a 700 Rem. action, 26" P.O. Ackley bbl... It will flatten a coyote or wolf as far away as you can hit them...

All of your choises will workat 300 yards though...
