NO MATTER what I or anyone on here tells you, get the 1 that fits YOU. Go to a range and try out different guns, take a firearms training class, decide exactly what features you want, and get 1 YOU are comfortable with. Sure I could tell you what I think is best all day long, same as all the other replies, but the fact remains we've never met you, don't know what hand size/strength you have, whether you're right or left handed, etc., so WE cannot pick a handgun for YOU. The idea is to keep it as simple as possible so you won't be confused at that critical time. Training & proper practice will be the best money you'll spend. Don't forget to set aside money for holsters, ammo, training course, cleaning kit, etc.

Choose the handgun that feels the most natural, including exterior controls, if any. Make SURE handgun is unloaded, look at something, raise gun quickly, see how close the sites are aligned to your point of aim, repeat several times. Only then will you really have an idea if it fits or not, still to be determined by actual shooting if possible.

Carried a Beretta 96(.40 S&W) for 10 years as a duty weapon. 100% reliable for me.

Get a good 1911, they carry really good. But also consider a Smith model 22-4, such as their Thunder Ranch model. I have carried it before and i can hardly tell its there. 6 shots for sure beats 8 or 9 or 14 shots maybe.

Yup get the one that fits you best. Personally, I like Springfield Armory XD's, and Glock.

One thing to consider which almost sounds dumb is to pick a gun you'll actually carry.
Too many guys buy a certain pistol because of reputation or looks only to find out it's heavy or uncomfortable to carry.
It's not doing you any good locked in the safe.

Pick something that is practical and of the right size for you to WANT to carry it. If it's a burden it's just going to be a safe queen or in a nightstand.

Matt is absolutely correct! A 1911 or big glock may be cool to carry but only until the newness wears off, then a small light gun that goes in your pocket, and is always with you is MUCH better than a bigger gun you don't have on you. I usually recommend revolvers for new shooters due to the K I S S principle.

i have a few revolvers and today bought my new one well acually its old a cz 762x25 seems to
shoot well
what is the K I S S priciple?

RE: best conceled pistol to buy

The K I S S principle is an term service people will be familiar with. It's Keep IT Simple Stupid. I mean NO disrespect as that's the actual terminology the armed forces uses. it basically means the simpler something is, the less chance there is of something screwing up, and you CANNOT get simpler than an revolver or DAO pistol.

everybody thats has replied so far has been absolutly right! take your time and try as mainy as you can get your hands on. when i bought my first carry gun i must have rented/borrowed 20 different hand guns, you'll know when you find the right one. i went with a springfield XD 9mm (4' service) and will be getting another XD in the subcompact version this summer. buy the one that suites you and shoot as mainy round through it as you can afford, so if the time every comes when you need it is just a natural reflex.

The gun must fit you and be pleasant to shoot, and it must be something you will carry. I got a Glock 23 as it's the most powerful semi-auto I can carry given my build. Later I bought a Taurus 85 in 30spl because I found their were too many occasions I left home empty-handed because the Glock was either too heavy or too hard to conceal given what I needed to wear. Between the two, I rarely leave the house unarmed anymore.

I don't know how you are built, but I bet with the proper equipment you couldconceal that Glock 23. A quality holster(not uncle mikes or fobus) and aquality belt(won't come from WalMart)will make all the difference in the world.

I carry a Glock 23, everyday...If I'm going to carry, I want a big enough gun when and if necessary...

As has been stated here...
1. It must be a comfortable gun for you to use and carry...recommend trying out a bunch (as there are a lot of good choices)...
2. It also depends on how you dress...if you wear a suit with a coat you can conceal a larger handgun...if you wear a T-shirt, then you are going to have a hard time hiding anything larger than a pocket pistol...

I carry a Colt Combat Commander .45 ACP in a inside-the waistband holster...in winter it hides easily under loose fitting sweaters...in the summer I nearly always wear a sports jacket / suit coat. The suit coat / jacket also allows me to carry it in a horizontal shoulder holster.

Other than the 1911s which can get heavy, my recommendation is the Glocks...either the G19 or G26 in 9mm, the G23 in .40 S&W, or the G30 in .45 ACP. I also like the Beretta 92FS, Taurus PT-92, and the Sig P226s but have difficulty concealing them without the coat/jacket.

I have a S&W 38 special I use for home security due to it being easy for the wife to shoot. I am in the process of buying a Glock 23 40 s&w for my carry permit.

RE: best conceled pistol to buy

Your title asks "best conceled pistol to buy"? My first thought was, how concealed did you want? A large frame 1911 type model in .45acp is ahoot to shoot, and certainly has knock down power. But is not very concealable, except for maybe a shoulder holster.I have a Glock 30 in .45 acp which is afairly small semi auto and it fits nicely in an under the waistband holster.
But I'm gonna get a Ruger SP101 in .357 magnum for these reasons. It's not a lot of cash layout to buy, you can shoot .38 special in it for paractice/plinking, and has plenty of knock down in close quarters. It's a revolver which is very reliable, and fits in your pocket - coat, pant, shirt, etc. (Unless you're a certain NY football player!!!!!)
