Default Concealed Carry Firearm Advice

I'm looking for some input on my first concealed carry pistol. Also would like to take it with meas back-up for black bearwhile bow hunting and hiking. Hunt in northern Minnesota so freezing temps must be considered.

Thanks

Bridging CCW and bear prevention may be tough. I'm guessing a short barreled revolver in .44 Mag??? CCW is all about concealibility but you need some "power" too. Hopefully, some other ideas will surface here.

Only advice I can give is what I learned. The smaller the firearm the more likely you'll actually be carrying it when you need it. It is my opinion that only little mouse guns are suitable for everyday carry. Otherwise you'll eventually get lazy and stop carrying it. Remember it isn't about power it's about placement.

As for every day carry piece and a bear protection piece. I'm going to stay out of that one. Just don't think they have anything to do with each other.

you need to break down and buy 1 to carry and 1 for hunting. unless you are a big guy you will have trouble hiding a large frame gun.

Yes, I am also starting to think that I may need to get two separate pistols.

whoever said "if it ain't small you won't carry it" was right on imo. i'm not a leo but i have a cc permit and always carry a small 25 cal semi-auto in my pants pocket. when i wear a coat/jacket i carry something bigger in a holster that i can conceal . i carry the pistol just to keep people off me or mine.

I think you need three different handguns. One in 22LR for practice (so you can practice your form and shooting A LOT), one for carry and one for hunting or as a backup firearm. If your bear handgun is a revolver, don't overlook a revolver for a carry gun. I wouldprefer a 3"barrel on a revolver if it was for streetcarry (lose more velocity if you go smaller than 3"). There are some nice small frame357 Mags with a 3" barrel and a 5 shot cylinder. Make sure your hand is not too big to correctly fit the grip of a small frame revolver.
