The Obama Plan
I recently joined the NRA & haven't received my membership package yet,so other than theliberal media here in NY I have nothing eles to go by.So i figured I'd post my question here.
Do you think that there will be a ban on calibers like .223 & .308.Being that these are two popular sporting rounds. I would like think that our govt is smart enough to make the right decision.
What are some of your opinions?

Congrats on joining the NRA!!!!Far to few gun owners are members. With ultra rabid anti gunners in control of both houses and the WH we need all the help we can get.I don't know about bans for specific cal's at present but you can bet there will be one bill after another we MUST defeat.

Congrats on joining NRA! Now you might want to join GOA. http://gunowners.org/ I have 1 thing to say about possible future laws-NEVER underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. Just look who won the last election![:@]

So no, I wouldn't count on the government to do anything intelligent for the next few years, at least. The best thing congress could do for us now is to recess and take a LONG vacation. The less the government gets done, the better.

I would be more worried about the guys at remington, ruger, savage, federal, hornady, and such companies in the firearm field keeping thier jobs....There is no way in this economy sporting gun sales or ammunition saleshaveincreased...
Im and NRA member myself....it really is the only placeI do not agree with President Obama. Im dont think any non-criminal citizen of this country should be denied the right to legallypurchase whatever it is they want with their hard, legallyearned money that they pay taxes on.
Ok so3.6 million people lose jobs under the Bush administrations failed policy, war, and free market capitalism...Non of which have really worked out in favor of the average person in this nation...We are still losing jobs, and probaly going to continue to lose jobs in this country for the next year....Obama has a huge hole to fill in from the past pres...

RE: The Obama Plan
jerry d....Congrats on joining the NRA. We absolutely need more members to make an effort to keep this new administration from steamrolling us. I just recently upgraded my membership from Life to Endowment.
AS far as thinking the Obama enclave will do "the right thing" by us is wishful thinking. The Democratic party is steeped in gun control and this is one of the most rabid anti-gun climates we've ever seen. Believe you me, bills are already underway to start to relieve you of your rights. It's going to be a long, hard constant day-by-day effort on our part as gun owners to do all we can to counteract the oncoming onslaught. EVERYONE needs to call, e-mail and write your United States and State government elected officials and tell them of our concerns as gun owners, and inform them we will be watching very closely as to how they vote on upcoming legislation along these lines. Remind them they are elected officials, and we are voters. Our numbers are in the millions and we will remeber them at the polls. Just take a couple of minutes and check your phone book in the "Government" section for names and addresses of your pertinent officials. Not too hard.......

So you think that socialism and a centrally planned command economy is going to help the average person? Seems to me that free market capitalism has served this country well, considering that, per capita, we enjoy a higher standard of living that anywhere else in the world. Europe has long embraced socialism, and the standard of living for the working class is much lower than ours. Ask the Chinese, North Koreans and Cubans how marxism has helped their middle class... oh wait, they don't have a middle class, they have the rich aristocracy that has curried enough favor with the ruling party to be "allowed" to be rich, and then they have everyone else waiting in lines for their ration of bread and their "free" but wholly inadequate health care. What libs don't seem to get is that the economy is CYCLICAL. It goes up, and it goes down, and it comes back up again. Maobama talks alot about the Great Depression and the New Deal, but he's revised the history to make the New Deal (it should have been named the Raw Deal) and FDR seem like the great socialist saviors they weren't. The New Deal, which was really the birth of socialism in this country, PROLONGED the Great Depression by at least 5 years. The depression ended because of WWII, DESPITE FDR and the New Deal, not because of them. God help us if the Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Barack Obama economic plan lasts for a full 8 years. Get used to the recession, because it's not going anywhere.

They raped the systemof your hard earned money in afree market...They didnt just rape it...they took pictures...posted them on the internet and put the videos on youtube for everyone to see. It was Anti-American and immoral.
Even mommy and daddy had to teach you bad from good and right from wrong. And its aparent thatthe US governmenthas to do something to not allow these companies from continuing their terrible business practices.I dont have a problem with anyone trying to make a buck. Their has to be some rules and laws in regaurds to how business with other peoples money is to be done. How do you make so much money every year and yet your company is going bankrupt? So Obama offers help, but puts restrictions and limitations on their income, assets, ect. Sounds like a good idea to me.
If I make a bad investment...no one is there for my loss...No one picks me back up and says...oh its ok heres some more money. If your for a free market then you should watch the banks burn and let someone else pick up the pieces...Watch your fellow neighbor lose his house and turn a blind eye because it doesnt effect you directly....Afterall it is what they asked for...You know if they would have been successful in their investments none of that money would have ever gone anywhere but in their pockets.
We sit on here and worry about a 5% hike on ammunition while others lose their houses to criminals in the lending system...People losing jobs due to our junk economy....Sometimes you just have to be happy you can afford your guns and ammo.
