Howdy, what kind of ammo shoots best for ya'll?
I put a zillion rounds through my 10/22 and I buy Federal bulk ammo. Iexperienced too many duds with brand R and Brand W. BTW, my high capacity magazines caused occasional jams until they were broken in.
My 10/22 seems to want to jam a lot. Well, has a lot of stove pipes when I use Federal 550 round value packs from Wal-Mart. Does it every once in a while with other ammo but not nearly as much. I like the Winchester Xpert ammo Walmart sells for like $13 or something for 500 rounds. Works and shoots well out of mine. I've heard other say their 10/22 didn't like the Federals too but liked Remingtons, then others have said theirs didn't like Remingtons but liked the Federals. Seems to be a hit or miss as to which yours likes.

Ammo: I like the CCI Stingers if I am actually hunting something. For a day at the range I buy the 500 rd box of whatever is on sale.
The manual for the 10/22 says not to use Stinger ammo due to the manual saying it's longer and can cause issues.

Only the TARGET rifle!

Hey appreciate that TimberCreek,

Kept me from a long search for my manual, I have shot stingers and never noticed a problem, actually seemed they unloaded better than many other brands in mine, but they was not accurate at all in my gun, they will leave a mark when they do hit though. My 10/22 likes 40gr win power-point. Speaking of 10/22s, ammo, and scopes.
Anybody ever unloaded a high capacity clip (25) round. And had your scope crosshair turn, or back out of the treads. Happened to me two different times, two different brands of scopes. Never could figure that out.
